    Sharpness

    Hi Guys

I have been taking a lot of photos with my new EOS 1000D, i know that i am a beginner and that i will have to take lots of images to get a couple of perfect pictures

i have been taking all of my images in RAW format and using DPP to process them what i am finding is that Sharpness is displayed as 2 on the toolbar and i have to change the sharpness for every picture

i have found that picture look great on my camera screen but shocking on my computer

is this normal or am i doing something wrong?

or is it my camera ?

or is it me being silly and having to change the sharpness of my pictures is normal?

    Re: Sharpness

It's normal and nothing to worry about.

I keep mine as default 3 and that's good enough to know whether they are sharp, or a bit on the soft side. The better ones get a bit of "polish" in Photoshop and the last thing I do is sharpen them, depending whether they are going to be printed, or used on the web.

You should never over sharpen at an early stage, because it can bring in digital noise and jpeg artifacts.

    Hope that helps?
