    Second outing with 200-800

Visit to RSPB Old Moor on Wednesday. Better weather, well we saw the sun for an hour then back to overcast conditions.

Some further comments re the lens. Finding handling really good, balance is really nice.

The AF is proving to be somewhat better than my Sigma. Images of marsh harrier below the lens/camera picked up the bird and kept focus much better.

This brambling was nearly 17m away and this crop is showing plenty of detail

Got to say Lightroom doesn't seem to handle the images at all well and using DxO brought out best of this lens. This certainly wasn't the case with the Sigma where DxO only made minor improvements.

Looking good....nice background separation, and background blur in the second shot where the background is more distant.

Great images. Quite fancy getting one, but I am not in Mrs C's best books at the moment. Need more "Brownie points".

If supply stays the same it's about 4 months wait so you could get one ordered and work on the brownie points.

Thanks for comments. Still a bit to learn about using the lens but initial outings look encouraging.
