Hi Nat, saw this and thought of you as they say

No idea how good it is (I note that Gary Fong does come in for a bit of ridicule from some on the net, but I have the GF small pop up flash diffuser and it is great) but it is Gary Fong taking group shots, not too dissimilar to what you do and he references Churches a couple of times, might be worth a look.

Thanks Ian. Very good. My only comment is that the ceiling in the building is reasonably low and convenient for bounce flash shots. In the churches where I take my group photos the ceiling is very high and boiunce flash will not work.

I wonder whether the crome bit will push the light up to say the Cathedral ceilings. Having said that I can't use flash for my church and school concerts (which are nowadays held in the olde worldy churches because of the acoustics)- they must be taken without flash. However it is a very nice video and very useful to know.

I have one, and it works very well. I use it for all events I shot. Does a great job.

Tom, just as a matter of interest, have you used this Gary Fong diffuser in buildings with very high ceilings- as high as perhaps 60-75ft from the floor?

I use them in a Church, near the alter. Very high ceilings. I do not have the chrome dome so cannot comment on it, but with the very High Ceiling, I keep the clear dome on top as it does not bounce from a cathedral ceiling. I also found that I need to increase the flash power depending on the ambient lighting in the church.
