    Chaffinch inequality

Just wondered if anyone else has noticed, but on my feeders this winter I have seen that the male Chaffinch has outnumbered the females by at least 10 to 1 if not more. If this horrid wind would drop I would set up my hide and illustrate it, but it really is noticeable.

I am in Suffolk and, although we don't have an abundance of them in the garden, I would say roughly 50/50.

Strange you should mention that David. Was only thinking yesterday we seem to have more females than males this year.
Story of my life dominated by the other sex.

Maybe they are like Red Deer and the sexes separate and Trev’s females will meet up when they migrate back to Europe.
