Another quality image Treff, the rays of sunlight give it a heavenly feel. :-) Sorry to hear that you've been ill.

        Re: The Lamb

Thanks for the comments Nathaniel and AndyA. Yes the lamb is small, a small creature against the coming storm, well that was my thought. I got a soaking trying for a few pictures, not the best place to be after being in bed with pleurisy for a few weeks. Her in doors was not best pleased, threatened to do things with the tripod that would have been very painful. Thanks for adding me to your Flickr AndyA please feel free to add any comments you may feel. You have some cracking stuff on your site.
        Cheers

Thanks Treff. I said to Dave Mac 77 (also on Flickr) the other day, my photos look like they were drawn by a 5 year old, using crayons in comparison to most images on Flickr :-)

Great work as usual. I think calling the image 'The Lamb' does not do it justice. Anyway, super stuff and pleased you are on the mend.

                    Re: The Lamb

I normally really like your images, your eye for what works 99% of the time comes up trumps.

This for me, doesn't reach those levels, firstly the processing is way to heavy, I like moody skies, but this feels as though the mood has been processed in, also there is some quite significant hotspots in the sky.

Compositionally, I feel the FG wall acts as a barrier to entering the scene, the road isn't quite strong enough to invite and lead you through the scene.

                    Pleased you are feeling better.

                      Re: The Lamb

It's very dramatic ... I (and I'm not artistic at all) think the wall adds to the claustrophobia and hits my amygdalae most effectively. Then the other lobes in my brain ask ... where is it? ... did the lamb survive the storm? ...

Looks like them clouds where going to drop quite a bit of rain, love the rays through the clouds.

Glad to hear you're on the mend, and back out with the camera.

                          Re: The Lamb

Many thanks to all for kind wishes and comments. It is very nice to be up and around again with the camera. This pic and others I took on the day I found hard to like and as Les said putting the wall so much in the FG makes it hard to get into the pic. I also must get lighter tripod. I use my Father's very old Velbon which is very heavy and as a tendency to try an chop your fingers off if your not careful. Again many thanks.
                          Cheers

                            Re: The Lamb

I think the lamb actually adds something to the image.
If you try blocking it out I think the image loses a bit of the appeal and makes it just another landscape.
It may be a tad overprocessed but it certainly has atmosphere.

Great to hear that your on the mend
