    Coniston Shallows

It was a disappointing day in the Lake District driving around the usual viewpoints, it was that lakeland mizzle that soaks everything. Parked up near the ferry point and the sun came out for about 20 mins, so grabbed whatever opportunity I had.

I like this, it has a very relaxing feel to it.

Nice image, the trees on right and left balance the image without distracting.

Very nice image. Like the way you used the shore line to lead the eye into the photo.

What kit did you use and what is the vital EXIF? Like me you hide your EXIF on Flickr.

          Couple of nice yacht's there.

Used my 7D (now sold) and the popular 24-105 lens (now sold) set at 35mm 200 ISO perched on a tripod at 1/13 sec.

                Great photo.
I wonder if it would be improved by cropping the cloud from the top?
                Just a thought.

Absolutely beautiful. You must be very pleased with that. I wouldn't change a thing. Well worth some serious printing!

I have the new 5d now and use the 17-40 and 50 1.4 for landscapes, for wildlife the 70-200 of 100-400 gets used. Also been taking a lot of images with a Canon G1x.
What i like about the lake district is that you can alwaiys get some moody shoots when the blue skies are missing.

Very nice, lovely sepia tone to it which I assume was natural? I disagree about cropping the cloud out as it adds to the mood but I kind of want to see the rest of the tree on the left just to complete the isolated feel. Just a suggestion as its already very good.

A lovely tranquil pics very well controlled as they say in the trade. It's got everything, well balanced, detail of the boats to draw you into the picture, trees either side to form the frame. cracking.
                          Cheers
