    Autumn on the fells

Here is my contribution to the many great shots taken in the lake district by the photographers on this forum.

This was one of the first shots I took upon arrival. I liked the autumn colours and the lead in to the lonely tree.

    Canon 1Ds2 with a 24mm TS-E lens. 1/50s @ f9 100asa.

Scuff, I love the composition with this shot! Do you have a link to a larger image? Where in the Lakes did you take this?

I like that! Grad filter or was the sky really that foreboding?

Thanks Andy. I can describe roughly where I was, but I don't know the names. There is a popular tourist spot where there is a fantastic view along one of the valleys, there is even a car park there! Anyway, if you stay on that road for about 3 miles as you drop down into the valley floor, this tree was on the left near where a stream runs along the side of the road.
The only higher res versions of this shot is on my hard drives, sorry.

Beautiful shot Scuff, I would be attracted to this for sure if I passed on the road. A real winner I think.

Lose the big black border and you have a near perfect shot, gives a real sense of 'solitude'

No thanks David. The border is staying for the reasons I have explained to the other border hater, Stan, on another thread.
Thanks for taking the time to express your views.
