    Dalby Church - revisited

    I called over to the Church in Dalby near York again yesterday, a different angle to my earlier photo posted a while back. This was another 'bash the nettles down' position. I think the larger image on flickr looks a bit better.

          Good colour tones with lots of sharp detail.

              Hi Andy,
              I really like the colour, and I appreciate your battle with the nettles, but I think it would be worth leveling the image. Depending upon how much it's already cropped. you might lose some of the extremes, but I think you'd be able to keep the key central dandelion.

                Thanks again everyone.

                Russell, the images is full view with no crop and my tripod was level according to the bubble. How do you mean worth levelling, do you mean crop of the bottom?

                  Excellent Andy.the bell tower is upright, so the rest must be OK. If u use LR enter the lens for corrections

                    I've just had a go with the lens correction filter, no change with the correction. I've found another image on the GENUKI page for comparison, same view point too!

                      Nice rich colours but it's the angle that makes this a really interesting shot.

                        Hi Andy,
                        To my eye the ground and the building are both rising left to right and to me that's unsettling. Now I understand that's how it is on the ground, but is it how you want to show it? If it is an uncropped image, there is enough room to alter that if you'd like to.

                        Andy, it's only my view, but if you have time have a play & see what you think.

                          Right, I'm with you. It's just taken at an oblique angle, so that's how it actually looks. I'm ok with that.

                            I don't think there's going to be much in the way of lens corrections needed anyway as it's not an extreme wide angle Andy. Looks ok from where I'm sitting, and I have one bum cheek bigger than the other.

                            You should have seen the fog coming over the campsie hills last night in the sunset. I was so gutted that I;

                            2. have a broken lens
                            3. missed it when I parked and walked back lol

                              Definitely prefer yours Andy! You've done a great job capturing the tones well, and, I really like the composition. Worth the nettle bashing!
