    Light on the Landscape

Taken on a recent trip to Caithness.
I was photographing the Kite Surfers at Dunnet when I noticed a shaft of sunlight had lit a part of the distant landscape

    Re: Light on the Landscape

That is lovely Mike, I really like the composition, the narrow band of water really helps.

Nit Picking I know but I think I would have been tempted to remove the Windmill thing and the pole to the left of it.

    Well Spotted

    Regards Paul

      Thanks Paul
I did originally remove the wind turbine but for some reason the image looked bland.
Try covering it to see if you know what I mean???

Awesome Mike. Scotland has fields and fields galore of light like this just now. I see it on my way home every night, and cannot stop anywhere. Damn country roads lol

I had a trip to the Trossachs last year to capture the Autumn colours.
Some stunning sights but nowhere to park.
Think I'll get the pushbike out of mothballs this year

Lovely image Mike, and it goes to show there's a place for telephoto lenses in landscapes!

I see what you mean about the windturbine, loosing that small detail seems to change the image dramatically (possibly losing the focal point?)

It is a nice image and very well spotted. I think you are right regarding the wind turbine, I think it helps overall with the composition, although I think they can blight our country side when placed in beautiful places like Aberdovy Wales for example.
