    Autumnal colour

    Hi

I went to Winkworth Arboretum today, and whilst I am still processing the shots, I thought I'd pop this one up here to see what you all thought!

    ** UPDATE **

Another try... as the first looked quite soft! Still working out my iMac workflow, through LR5 and PSE9!

lol - hmmm, that Japanese woman was the bane of my day... she kept popping up wearing a multi-coloured rug thing! I will willingly eliminate her from the image AGAIN!
          ** UPDATE ** - task completed!

          Thanks guys.

Second is better. Nice autumn colours and the bench is a good anchor

                Thanks Stan and Tom!

@Stan - exactly... I loved the bench, and could just imagine sitting there all day!

                  Re: Autumnal colour

Second image is very nice Mike, apart from the obvious clarity/sharpness differences, the bench show up much better on the second one.

                      Thanks Paul & Chris

@Paul - I managed to salvage the detail because I'm now using LR5, which I think is very good indeed. Well worth investing in!

                        Re: Autumnal colour

Nice colour and scene but still a little soft of the right hand side beyond the bench for my liking. I would have gone higher than F8 (maybe 13 or 16) increasing the ISO to 400 or 800 if necessary. It's a shame about the shade in the foreground as I think it would be an even better shot if not for this. The sky is nicely exposed too. I'm just not sure where my eye is meant to go and I think this might be due to the shade.

I think the shot has so much potential I'd be tempted to try different times of day.

                          Re: Autumnal colour

Thanks Riggers, that's exactly the critique I'm looking for.

I've mainly been shooting wildlife, but I am trying new things! Really tricky shot, as there was so much contrast - light/dark. You're right, f8 is a bit too open, and I should have closed down more. ISO - well, I didn't want to introduce noise, so I pegged it low for the day... perhaps should have let it go higher, as the any noise would have been lost in the foliage!

                          Many thanks. Mike.
