    Canoe with a View

    LochLeathanSep10.jpg

Here's a picture from a few years ago.
I'm not sure if pictures from the canoe really work in composition terms. What do you think?

Taken on the 350D as jpeg and no editing as far as I recall.

Looks like Skye and the Old Man of Store on the horizon. Correct ? Anyway, a super travel shot - has a narrative to it that the more finally mastered compositional type of photography sometimes lacks.

James - spot on with location - my local loch for a paddle out.

      Thanks.

Currently the picture I look at each day at work as I had calendar made with pics I'd taken of Skye and this is the one for July.

                  Nice one.

How do you manage to upload a 347k image? If I try something bigger that 97k I get a message saying the files too big. I'm using Photobucket at the moment.

Not doing anything special. Only difference to you is I'm using Flickr whether this is reason or not, I just copy the BBCode and then paste. I'm guess the forum does a bit of resizing etc.

Visited Skye first time a few years ago and been back every year so far, usually Oct-Nov.

Think its a bit of a special place, mind you in depths of winter it will be very different I guess but still good opportunities for walking/photography.

Ah, just discovered how to upload a bigger file - unticking the box on the URL option.

Here's another go with a slightly edited image

Hopefully looks a bit better than the first.

It's not so bad in winter.

We don't often get snow on the lower ground and it doesn't usually stay long.

                            Fantastic shots both.

Will be up that way in a few weeks time. It's my other half's birthday and she wanted a surprise so she knows she's going away but not where to. I've been to Skye once for a few days but it was a long time ago with some old mates - really looking forward to it.
