    Look at the Plane!

I had a quick visit to St Mary's Lighthouse yesterday, I think the plane is a British Aerospace 146, it had no markings that I could see as it headed towards Newcastle airport. I just thought it and the mother and children added to the image.

    #2 A slightly different composition.

    Re: Look at the Plane!

I like them both but for different reasons. The first does work with the family pointing at the plane, just a shame is so small and leaving the shot. A quick Photoshop and it will be closer to them

The second is a great composition with the nice ripples in the water and the logs/sticks making a leading line to the subject matter, the lighthouse.

two interesting shots Peter - the first I would loose a tad from the bottom as that will pull more attention to the plane and family

      the second nice

They're both good, IMHO, but the first one steals it for the connection between the two smallest parts of the shot. Very nice

                  Re: Look at the Plane!

Peter, both great shots. My fave is the first; the mother pointing and the the plane are great elements that I would probably have completely missed had I been taking it. In fact I'd have no doubt tutted and waited until both were out of frame. My loss.
I wonder if the second would work well in mono too.

Thanks for taking time to look an comment on these two images. Looking at them now I think the foreground isn't helping either image. I shall try a crop off the bottom.
