    Corfe Castle

Like last year, Corfe Castle in being illuminated in the run up to Christmas. Arrived mid afternoon so had time to take a few shots while there was light.

the first is a blend of two bracketed shots, the second based on the HDR image produced in camera but with a new sky added in preparation for a mono conversion

Both shot with Canon EF-S 10-22

    Re: Corfe Castle

Looks like an interesting place, I'm not a fan of HDR and these images seem a bit hard on the edges and look unnatural but then I suppose HDR is't natural

      Cheers Alan

The first is not HDR, just used two of the bracketed images, one @0 Ev for the foreground and the other for the sky at -1 EV

The second, even before the sky was hard on the edges but I think that was down to the in camera processing , In adding the new sky I have tried to soften the edges a bit

The first works, but I would crop the bottom loosing the dog as I still think the path leads you in well - the second something isn't sitting right and I think flipping the sky hasn't helped, will be interesting to see this B&W as then I think it could work much better

Better to lose the dog by clone rather than crop so the path leads from the corner

Here is the second image with the original sky. Will post the mono later

              Re: Corfe Castle

I'd say the original sky in the second will be ideal for mono, especially if processed in Efexpro

                  thanks for looking guys

                  especially if processed in Efexpro
about to put up 2 versions of the mono processed with PS - I don't do enough to justify the cost of Efexpro
