A good idea for mono but there is very little detail, especially along the dark areas at the top and to a lesser extent, the mussels themselves - with the latter the detail is there just needs to be brought out by lifting the shadows.
BTW, its a mono image so why not post it in Black and White forum

A little lighter in the shadows but not much. Nicely composedAlan.

Sorry, but it's not a image that working for me. As mentioned, the mussels are to dark and the problem is that if you push the shadows try and get more detail, you will introduce noise. The other problem for me is that the eye is 1st drawn to the brightest part of the image 1st and that happens to be that big bright white spot, so you 1st see the OOF part of the image. Again just my thoughts.
