    Limni Marathona

A couple more from last night in beautiful Greece:

Early sunset over Lake Marathon by Richard Anderson, on Flickr

Both taken at Limni Marathona (Lake Marathon), not very far from where all those runners get their inspiration! The lake is an artificial reservoir which feeds much of the region around Athens.

A whole lot more from Greece here: https://flic.kr/s/aHskArtxyd

    Thanks for looking...

both have nice colours but would benefit from a lift in the shadows and the tree in the foreground would be better removed as it just interrupts the composition

        Thanks Tom and Stan.

I have played with the tree:

But am loathe to play with the shadows. I think the beauty of these sunsets over mountains - which we see a lot in Greece - is the very fact that with the sun behind you can make out next to nothing of the detail apart from a silhouette of mountains articulated by the surrounding colours...

        Interested in other views!

As for the tree - taking out such a major piece of the picture is difficult even for PS, and so I have blurred the lake somewhat. Not sure about it...

        Again, other views welcomed!

And while I am at it, here is another (different altogether) pink one...

Lovely shots Richard. Agree that the tree had to go. In removing it you have somehow blurred out the sun too

Of the set I really like the third offering, the colours are wonderful

Thanks Alan. I thought the sun was looking a little over-vivid in the first version, so I tried to calm it down a little... Perhaps I over did it! Think I will stick to the pink ones!
