    Stourhead in Autumn

Here's a collection of shots I took at Stourhead back in October last year.

    First classic Stourhead:

It was a bit of a bun fight initially as all the photographers gather in this area but some creative cropping solved that :)

As you can see the autumn colours were in full swing and the side lighting from the afternoon sun just added to the composition and colours.

5D MKII, AV:f/16, TV:1/100, ISO: 200, 51 mm, -1 EV and 0.9 ND Grad to hold back sky.

    Second Gothic Cottage:

With the autumn colours in full swing you can see the 2 red maples next to the cottage breaking through the trees. The people gathered near the cottage also add a sense of scale to the image and therefore you can appreciate the size and canopy of the trees.

    5D MKII, AV:f/11, TV:1/125, ISO: 200, 100 mm and -1 EV.

    Last, tree light:

What I really liked about this composition is how the afternoon sun combined with the darker trees in the background emphasized the lighter colour of these trees.

    5D MKII, AV:f/16, TV:1/80, ISO: 200, 100 mm and -1 EV.

    Thanks for looking.

Although looking forward to the Spring, Autumn is a special season and it is captured well here the Maples are stunning. #1 is my Favourite

Like how the tree on the waters edge looks like its lit with a spot light. Great capture of colour.

Beautiful location and you have captured it well.

It is right on my doorstep and I probably go there less than once in five years. I think you have probably inspired me to go in the spring.

                    A Regional meet perhaps?

Lovely shots Glenn, Number 1 really stands out though IMO, it looks just like the shots you get on films like Jane Eyre or similar, it seems to have a timeless aspect to it, no doubt it looked just the same 100 years ago and will look the same in another 100 years.

Now there's an idea. I believe it's an excellent place for snowdrops.

First is a beauty, with the bonus of a good sky.

Last two are good, but I feel the tight crop on the bottom (leaving just a slither of water) lessens the impact.
