Re: Robert Mapplethorpe inspired
I have 2 books by Mapplethorpe:
Pistils (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Pistils-Robe...4227241&sr=1-1) contains some of the most beautiful images of flowers you will see.
Altars (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Altars-Rober...4227338&sr=1-2) contains some incredible portraiture. It does, however, also contain some pretty challenging homo-erotic images, so take care if you're easily offended.
For me, Mapplethorpe is one of the few photographers who were genuinely ground-breaking. There's a lot of his work I don't "like", and much of it doesn't make for easy viewing, but it's hard to ignore his place in the story of photography.
