I studied a lot of Mapplethorpe's work for City & Guilds.....
I would say, yes... VERY good.
I prefer #2.

Just been and looked at some of his photos - google is a marvelous thing - If I had to choose I would go with number two, but that is just personal choice. I like the lighting.Di ~ Trying to take "the" photograph.
