    Welcome to the battlefield

Its not often you get to walk around a real battlefield, but I heard about this town so made sure we visited..

Its Belchite, in 1937, loyalist Spanish Republican and rebel General Franco's forces in the Spanish Civil War fought the Battle of Belchite in and around the town. After the war Franko wanted the village left as a memorial to the war and a new village was built next it and its basically just how it was after the war..

Very spooky walking around and some of the houses still have things inside but its falling down and you have to watch where you stand and hard hats are given to anyone that wants to go inside..

Also any film fans the film The Adventures of Baron Munchausen was mostly filmed there

What a place mate, did you venture inside or wimp out lol. You have really drawn the viewer into the shot with the PoV. Nice, I like

cheers Alan ...and yes I went in and walked around for about 2 hours, but could have stayed a lot longer.. Only annoying part it was so dusty and windy that changing a lens wasn't an option so all shots with my W/A and I would have liked to zoom into some buildings.. I think I've got about 10 decent ones once I process them... One building I went into the tour guide showed me where half the wall had fallen down last week...I didn't hang around long

Spain health & safety LOL ... but it was fun..

Sadly Baron Munchausen church has fallen down so much it was difficult to get decent shots, but I'll have a play

I must say you really do have your processing - especially these 'through a archway' type - sorted now as that's very nice indeed Was it HDR?

                        Cheers,
                        John

cheers Alex - Aurora did help pull the colours out well

thanks John. Yes HDR but I've also worked out if you want to do archway type shots its got to be at least 5 shots, although in this case the archway was so dark I did 7 shots going -3 & +3

Nice image & fascinating location. Interesting to see that you're using 7 stops of HDR.... thinks must try that.
