    Sunkenkirk Stone Circle (Broughton-in-Furness)

Sunday was back to the SW Lakes and a 12 mile ramble around the Broughton Fells.

    1. Sunkenkirk Stone Circle (Swinside)

    2. Fresh Lamb

A first for me ... there wasn't a shepherd about. Mum did this all by herself.

    3. Part of a splendid north-south lane across the Lakes

    4. Second day of close encounters with calves

    5. Typical view in this area of The Lakes

    6. The Route

    40D plus 17-40L as usual.

Feel free to report technical or narrative blunders.

    Thanks for looking.

Monday morning fix Monday evening .... still works for me....
Looks like you had better weather than down south.
As usual all good but just maybe a couple of horizons could do with a little straightening, however, I suspect that it is an optical illusion with the tops of the ranges actually rising to the right.

Number 4 is my fave. Like number 3 with the sign on the road. (wonder what it says. - itsonewayortuther?)

David - yes getting horizons right - sometimes it's me (and not doing a rotate when PP) - sometimes it is like that (#5 for example). Never sure if I should rotate to always make it look correct (when it isn't).

Di - I think it says 'Passing Place'. These old Lakeland roads are always worth a visit as you'll end up going to villages you would otherwise never 'appen upon.

Nice ones MX5. Brings back many pleasant memories. I do go up to the Lake District rather frequently- Whitbarrow villiage (turn right by the Sportsman Inn) is my roosting place.

Thanks Stephen. I just hope it inspires folk to get off the beaten track and take photos of this green and pleasant land ...

Great pictures again MX5. Wish we could get up there a bit more often. I was thinking exactly the same as David with regards to the weather. I'm just up the road from him and we had an almost semi-tropical rain storm yesterday late afternoon complete with thunder and lightening.

                Cheers
