    Garden Cross Spiders

A few in the garden yesterday so spent some time shooting. Quite a lot of experimentation to try and get a balance between front to back sharpness on the spiders at the same time as keeping the background out of focus. The best compromise was between f11 and f13, so all shot on a tripod

Balance works for me. Short of focus stacking there's always going to be a compromise with larger subjects.

shame not an option but either they are not still long enough or the slightest wind means movement

Great shots, it helps me in my phobia of spiders by taking macro shots
