    Good catch

It is an amazing thing to see - only seen it once myself at the Pitlochry salmon ladder. So much better to see them in a more natural environment.

These shots are darned difficult, good capture.

Looks very difficult to capture, nice and sharp in the 2nd photo.

                    Re: salmon leap

I've never tried anything like these, but I can see they would be darn tricky. Slippery, even. Great results though; no 2 shades it for me with the greater iridescence and slightly sharper. I'd be interested in the exif.

                      Re: salmon leap

I've tried this before and stood for about 3 hours for 1 successful picture so well done.
No 2 is the better pic.
Are you able to show some details, shutter speed ,ISO,aperature etc
Also try using some fill in flash.

shot these from aprox 60feet looking down in to the force on a tripod shutter release prefocused on a mid point where i thought they would jump locked out the focus on the lens button iso 640 up to 800 depending on the light 1000sec set on tv 500mm lens set to 310 speed and iso gave me f7.1 as soon as they start out of the water at bottom of the water fall fire the hand remote and you should get them about 3to4 feet in to the leap ,do not zoom in to close as they will jump through the field of view you have
