This is another shot from Marwell last week but the leopard was sitting against the backdrop of the fence which was very visible. At the time of shooting i also too a shot of a better part of ttheir enclosure with the intention of putting the tow shots together

Beautifully merged together, Stan. Wouldn't have looked twice. Well, I did, but only because it is a lovely shot of a stunning animal.

Defo an improvement and makes the shot a keeper. Personally might have increased the contrast a bit on the new background.

Stan - can you let us (me!) into the secret of how you did that manipulation so well, please?? Even if it disproves the theory that the camera does not lie!

it was reasonably straightforward (for me anyway), using layers and masks in photoshop or the latest versions of Elements

                              Open both images in photoshop

With the leopard image active, select, all, edit and copy.

Close image and then edit, paste and the leopard will appear as a layer above the new background

Add a layer mask and with a medium sized brush , set to black, paint over the fenced background to reveal the new background below. Vary the size of the brush as you get nearer the leopard and if you go too far, change the brush colour to white and paint back in.

Once you are happy with the result, flatten the image and continue to process as you normally would
