    Fox a Golden Oldie

I took this photo in 2009 , this is when I seriously got back into wildlife photography . Taken on my first digital SLR , a Canon 400D . Still using the 400mm lens quite regularly , but the camera body has been upgraded a couple of times . It makes me wonder what other gems are sitting on my hard drives ...

You will have and, if anywhere near as good as this one, well worth finding.

If you're not already using LR then you should as setting the 'keywords' means you have to look at all your digital images and there is no finer way to rediscover those gems. It may take a while (I had IRO 30,000 and spent around three months on the task) but when complete you'll be able to locate any image with a simple search.

      Cheers,
      John

Great light and well shot with a basic camera - 400D was my first one as well

Nice capture and considering it was taken at ISO 1600 it doesn't look too noisy.

If I remember rightly , that was the top iso on the 400D , I took quite a lot of photos with it at risky iso settings , and it handled them very well . I think the noise issues started when they started cramming to many megapixels onto the smaller sensors , but things do seem to be looking up a bit now on the later crop sensor bodies . Thanks very much for the further comments .

Very nice ,things have progressed camera wise but not nearly as far as some would have you believe .the main changes have been to software and the developers skills in ripping us off ??
