    My First Swallow BIFs

Hirundines are noted for their rapid, erratic, multidimensional flight pattern as they hunt flying insects. I've managed BIFs of House and Sand Martin before but Swallows are even faster and I've not cracked it before, however I got lucky a couple of days ago. The first was taken at dusk so is at ISO 3200 but not too bad, and the last is just a tad oof but still a keeper. All large crops with Canon 7D plus EF 400mm f5.6L

Taken at Salgados Nature Reserve in Southern Portugal.

You got me really excited David - I thought Spring was here, and then I see you are in Portugal

I like number one as you hardly ever get a glimpse of the tail patterns.

Very well done indeed David, #2 is an absolute cracker showing the colours, very good catches indeed.

I was wondering what they were doing over here.

Good captures of what are a very difficult subject to nail

I am very impressed David. The 7D and 400mm are an awesome combination.
