    Cormorant

Stan had told me that the ultimate Cormorant shot should show the lovely colours of the eye.
This is a crop, not pin sharp but the best I have managed so far.
I need to learn some fieldcraft and get closer.

    Canon 7D with 70-300mm f4-5.6 is usm.
    ISO 200 1/750@f5.6

            Re: Cormorant

I need to learn some fieldcraft and get closer.
            • Wear clothing of subdued colours, washed in unscented products.
            • Don't use any deodorants, aftershave, scented soaps etc.
            • Research your expected quarry.

            • Move slowly up to your quarry. By slowly I mean when you think you are moving slow enough, you need to halve that speed.
            • Use natural cover to shield your movement - trees, shrubs etc
            • Stay below the horizon line - this may mean kneeling, or prone.
            • Do not make eye contact.
            • When you are in position, stay still for a couple of minutes.
            • Most Animals and birds have better eyesight than us, but movement will attract their attention, so keep any movement to the barest minimum.
            • Bring the camera up to eye very slowly, slow motion hardly moving.

            Good luck
            Colin

              Thanks all for commenting.
I am going to look out some breeding colonies along the coast soon and intend using some of Colin's tips without looking a Divvy.
