    Garden Birds.

I spent some time after work in the garden today. It wasn't brilliantly successful. Over half of the days shoot went into the bin. (I don't think there's a call for the back side of birds photos.)

    I like these.

Nothing special. Just ordinary garden birds. Comments welcome.

Nice images, if there was anything that would improve the first 2 in particular it would be a catch light in the eye. The blackbird its quite hard to see the eye, the female/juv sparrow the eye is visible but a catch light would improve

I know its not always possible but if you look at other images you'll see the difference it makes. Something to try is take an image of a person with a good catch light in the eye and edit it out. The person can often look 'lifeless'.

Indeed, lots of my early bird photography was with film. Lost track of the amount I threw away before I got anything worth keeping. Also no AF, not sure how I managed now.

Nice sharp shots. Ordinary garden birds are just as difficult to capture as any other wild bird.

                Thanks all.

Not bad to say that I was sat in a patio chair.

                  Comfort photography, bonus.

Wish I'd had my camera to hand this evening, got some meal worms out for birds and great tit family came down. Adults spent ages feeding 5 young that were easily same size as them.
