    Tawny Owl @BWC

    Hi All
    Following my trip to Wales for red kites and puffins - I went to BWC for an owl photography day. First time i have been - weather fantastic and have some good images of 6 British owls.

    Here's some of their tawny owl.

      The BWC Tawny Owl is an easy shot even when not on an Owl experience day, as he normally spends all day just sitting in the tree. Notwithstanding that, you have still made your own take on the shots and I love him set against the dark background on number 2 and the alert looking at the sky above for predators in number 3.

      Not sure on number 1 where you have some artefacts spoiling the background. Probably happened during the upload and easily fixed in Photoshop.

        Hi Colin - thanks for the comments - I have re processed No1 to remove the artefacts you saw - don't know why I missed them when I saved the jpeg. Regards John

                Thanks Bill and Andy - Andy I was shooting @ f2.8 as it was in a dark spot - hence min DoF - first shot I took on the day and I liked the pose the owl had - I varied the aperture during the day as the light changed - Regards John

                  Very nice shots John. The BWC's another place I need to go back to.

                    Thanks Andy - first vist for me - will go again - the staff were excellent and clearly cared for heir birds and were very helpful when people in the group made suggestions re good perches etc - Regards John
