    Kingfishers

    These were taken last March in Qurm Natural park in Muscat. The Common Kingfisher is a fairly common winter migrant to Oman. Arriving during September and gone again by late March. The area is a mix of reed beds and rocky reset scrub. The main channel from which she feeds is tidal but fed from an underground source.

          Nice series; I've yet to close enough to one for anything approaching a decent shot

          Cheers;

                  Having livd nearby in Qatar, I would never have associated Oman with Kingfishers, Andrew!

                  What lovely shots, the first being a real stunner. One thing you'll be assured of, no doubt, is good light!
