    Stan another excellent shot.

    When I ran trips for a local RSPB group we were on the coast and a lady who had only recently started bird watching said she could 'see a Lapwing carrying a carrot'. Of course turned out to be Oystercatcher but I could see when she was coming from.

      Great detail and a shadow, excellent. Would the picture work without the top band of water.

        Would the picture work without the top band of water.
        It probably would doug - if you scroll up your screen so the top is not visible - but it would then need a bit cropped off the left as well.

                    the middle one is fine ,but the blacks on the 1st and 3rd shots look very washed out and pallid .apart from that good pics not a easy bird to get close to

                      its always a fine line with blacks between keeping some feather detail and leaving it looking a bit washed out but the first two shots are the same apart from the crop, so there should be no difference in the blacks but yes the last one is looking a bit washed out
