    Avocet

The water levels on the Brownsea lagood were quite low which meant few birds close enough to shoot but this avocet did venture quite near giving the chance of a full frame shot

Lovely shot Stan, Avocets always seem to look smart and presentable somehow.

Nice image Stan. Remember travelling to Minsmere to see these many years ago as this was really only place to see them. Now seem to be quite wide spread.

Very nice Stan... I saw (and shot) my first Avocet at Martin Mere WWT yesterday (!)... but nowhere as good as yours, just a record shot really. Long way away, and the weather was not kind to me.

Really considering whether to go the prime route and a 1.4... not sure I can get that passed SWMBO! Hmmm, decisions decisions!

Brownsea is the only place I see them this close

For both Dee and I the 300f4 and 1.4x is the best combination is,as ours doesnt, your budget doesnt stretch to either a 300 f2.8 or 500 f4
You could probably do a trade with MBP
