    Found Sparrowhawk nest

After about 4-5 weeks of searching I finally found the Sparrowhawk bringing back nesting material. I popped off a few shots and left them to it. This is the female from the set. I didn't want to disturb them too much but will keep my eye on them.

Been quite lucky today with stuff :) Also got a Buzzard in flight.

Bit noisy but it was shady under it's plumage.

Great shots Paul. I've seen the odd Sparrowhawk, but never photographed one so I'm quite envious. Looking forward to seeing more.

Well done Paul - it's so difficult to catch a perching sparrowhawk, marks for patience & fieldcraft.

                  Re: Found Sparrowhawk nest

Cheers guys. There's actually two nesting pairs of Spars on the same stretch of river about 1km apart. Saw them both today, plus 4 kingfishers all fighting on the river for dominance. 3 Cormorants up stream and a few Oyster catchers. We drove a few miles out the city for the Buzzard shots. She just circled about 20-30m above us for a while. The male too. Must have been their territory so we got out of there before we upset them too much, Ran into about 12 Roe deer who stampeded past us at pace.

It was quite an eventful day to say the least.
