    English Garden Birds

I thought for a change I would take some pics of our common garden birds and I must say that this was quite difficult as the birds never stood "still"! Nat I am not a fan of feeder pictures but would love to attract Nuthatch and Siskins into my garden

Sorry Nat, feeder shots are a no no for me nut i know you had no control being on holiday but if you want to do something similar in your own garden set up a natural perch nearby for the birds to land on

Thanks Alan and Stan for your candid comments. I fully agree with that feeder shots are not my cup of tea either. However, beggars can't be choosers whilst on holiday and my accomodation fronted a river and there were lots of feeders hanging here and there. so birds were just coming and going at will. I might also mention that these are my first ever feeder shots anyway!!!!!!!

Not the usual high standard that we currently expect from you Nat.
I too would be tempted to take photos even from feeders if given an opportunity when on holiday.
Nuthatch, Siskin, Chaffinch, Goldfinch all in one place ... where's the camera?

Forgot to mention that all the pics were taken through the large glass window, fronting the feeders.

Will not use good L glass behind ordinary double glazed picture windows in future!!!!! I am rather disappointed myself.

                    Re: English Garden Birds

Sometimes it's highly desirable to keep some nice solid double glazing between camera and bird table as this picture taken yesterday shows:

Birds will have to go hungry untill it's 'dealt with'!

                    Cheers,
                    John

Thanks Tom but I am kicking myself for taking the pics through double glazed picture windows, when there was a smaller window higher up which I may have been able to open. Without trying, one never knows!
