Spent an hour or so between showers at Blashford Lakes today and was lucky to see 3 of these little birds feeding by the lake shore. Although i got a lot of shots with my standard kit (300 f4 and 1.4x), this one is a bit of an experiment to see how well Af would perform on my 70-200 f2.8 with 1.4x and 2x converters attached. With a 3 stop loss of light ,on my 7D in theory it should not auto focus but the camera only recognises the 2x and ignores the 1.4x, so although a little slower than normal, af is possible. So the actual focal length here, ignoring the camera crop factor is 560mm
