Interested to hear back which of the 2 KF images you prefer and why?

First for me, nicer pose and it just seems a brighter vivid image with the more of the blue plumage showing...2nd is pretty good also

The first is the better image, cleaner background, although there is nothing wrong with the other background, and its sharper throughout - the feet on the second are slightly soft

Crikey, John, how do you choose between those two beauties?
If I had to jump, I'd say no 1, but not sure why. I think it is just that the blue markings provide a bit more interest than the orange. But then no 2 has a catchlight... Errm, ok, let's say... number 1. But tomorrow I'd probably say no 2.

Thanks Stan - the DoF on no 1 is less - shot at f5.6 - the focus was on the eye and the plane of focus coincided with the feet. Image 2 shot at f7.1, focus again on the eye but the feet and fish are just on either side of the plane of focus. I go also for no1 as in my reply to Gordon. Regards John

Difficult to choose John, I'm hedging slightly towards 2 for the orange plumage and seems ever so slightly sharper to me.

No 1 for position but not a lot to choose between them really. No 2 might be better technically, if it was mine I'd clone out shadow on branch.
