      Hi Stan,
How do you do it ? I'm not usually prone to the upwelling of the dreaded green monster but I'm starting to feel definite twinges of envy. Great work

We'd all like to know that, Stan. Ok some must surely be a bit of luck, to be in the right place at the right time.Og course you try to plan, ahead, and turn up where they re likely to be !! but if that bird was above me. I think I would be all fingers and thumbs, not to mention a faster heart rate, which then would probably brining on the shakes... probably !!..

PS ... Great shot young man !!

there is always some luck involved - with the kestrel, I have been shooting him around that area for about 3 years now and I have found that if he is going to turn up at all it is usually between 1.30 and 12.30 - lunch time. Last week i was down there a bit earlier and wasnt particularly looking for him but i spotted around 100 metres away a "largish bird" drop down into the undergrowth. So i quickened my pace and just as i got to the spot he rose up, flew a few metres and hovered - it was the kestrel. Most times i have seen him, he is around for maybe a couple of bursts but that day he was having no luck hunting so was flying and hovering along a 200 to 300 metre stretch of the cliffs for almost half an hour with me chasing back and forth to keep up with him and ending up with some 180 shots - many more than usual but of course quite a few duplicate poses

              Hi Stan
What a brilliant account - just love it when somebody adds a narrative to the pictures.
