    Kingfisher

    This kingfisher was quite visible at blashford on friday morning but unlike previous occasions he refused to use the perches right in front of the hide, so this one is a bit of a crop

    Thats a stunning photo Stan and I really like the composition in this

    I like the way his tail is curled upwards, is that normal or was he showing off to a lady friend?

          Gorgeous Shot Stan. It's amazing how they land on that thorny perch without harming their feet.

                            I too can look at them all day long and get a real buzz, more than ahy other bird I think, when i capture one. He is a reasonably regular visitor around the Blashford hide so its worth spending the morning there waiting for him to turn up. Of course like most birds they are unpredictable and sometimes dont appear but there is plenty of other action going on to pass the time
