            Classic nuthatch pose and a stunning background. I may have cropped a bit more off the top and left to lose the diagonal crack in the wood.

                Another super shot Stan. I have only ever seen these little birds in British Columbia when I visit my sister. The Canadian version is almost identical to our natives. Do you have any advice to help me find one. I live slightly further north than you in Newbury where despite 30 plus species of bird visiting the garden there are no Nuthatches. I really want one!

                  yes, it will take a bit more of a crop but at present I dont have access to the full size shot as we are at Menorca this week

                  unfortunately this is not a local one, although i see them from time to time at Blashford Lakes but no clear shots from there. This one and most of my nuthatch shots are from Warnham Nature Reserve in Sussex, a 100 mile journey for us but always worth while
