    Teenage Eider

This eider is just starting to get his adult plumage, and is not fussy about what he eats! - he and his girl are always the first on the feeder!

Lovely shot. I got some shots recently in Northumbria. Is this in a collection?

Yes, I keep a few ornamental ducks on our pond - I used to have a lot, but they got wiped out by mink about 6 years ago. I have just started again and, touch wood very hard, have not yet had a return visit. The Eiders have always been one of my favourites and it was hertbreaking to find them decapitated by the mink - as was one of my Black Swans!
