Yep all look dark to me to ,you can actually brighten these up on Flickr ,just go to the little box to the right at bottom of your photo ,and follow it through to the adjustment section ,works quiet nicely

cheers guys, tried the brighten thing but don't know if its done any good. Funny thing is that if these birds had been playing on the other side of the river, where the setting sun was strongest, then they would of looked better. Then again I thought the first was pretty good but only due to the fact that I may have, at last, got the speed right - love the drops of water.

onto something different, I've been using Photoshop/coral for over 10 years now and have been hearing various comments about this light room thing - is it just a sort of great storage/organizing piece of software, or does it actually do things that you can't in Photoshop.

        cheers paul

I do the bulk of my processing in LR and its very good - PS is a very powerful editor but you also need to know your way round it, where as with LR you can be up and running inside a weekend

Echo the above 100%. Very cost effective now with the monthly subscription.

Re: a few things flying around today

Having XP and CS4, its seems I am a tad behind the times, and to modernize would cost alot of money that I'd rather spend on a new zoom lens then something I already have (be it OLD), plus the DPP and bridge plus DNG converter allow me to do most things. If this light room is any like and what it offers goes along the same lines as each upgrade in Photoshop I've used, then I guess what I have already has the same capacities except I just have to look deep into the program for it while newest version tend to have a command button for it.

while I'm picking brains and ref's zoom lens - got my eye on this new sigma sport that's coming out soon - any body got thoughts on it or sigma?

                cheers

                Paul

Running LR4 on XP would not be advisable, in fact I'm not even sure it would run - If you were looking at upgrading to LR I would recommend LR3 which you could probably pick up pretty cheap
