            Pin sharp, and really nicely framed - sometimes though you look at a photo and wonder why it's called what it is - I mean. . . it's not green that I can see.

                  strange isnt it, not a spot of green anywhere - should be called brownish shank. At least a redshank has some red on it

                    I think the name Greenshank is derived from the colour of the legs, like Redshank which has red(ish) legs.

                      I think the name Greenshank is derived from the colour of the legs
                      you are right Bill although I always think og them as having yellowish legs but could also be described as a tinge of green
