      Thanks David.

No it was taken with the 300mm f4 and 1.4x, although the new toy will be getting a workout tomorrow over at HCT

Or should I say that I'll be getting a workout using the new toy tomorrow, lol.

Oh yes and a very high one. Although I might see if I can hide his camera next time he's there just to set him back a bit, lol

              Not an easy shot Glen.

With the lightning speed he dashes across and the limited movement from within the hide, not a lot of time to lock-on before he has disappeared.

Thanks Colin. I have quite a few where the Kestrel is ever so slightly soft so to get one like this makes the effort worth while

Good shot, nicely balanced exposure, creamy BG, and intelligent use of empty space.

If I got one as good I'd be well pleased and you have some good detail under the wings

I'll look forward to the result I spent today at HCT testing out the 500mm and I think my arms have stopped working....

I have yet to get a decent sharp shot of him close to the ground although in the past I have nailed him as he flys off the top of his "christmas" tree. As you say he's quite active now with feeding the chicks so there may be some good chances on Monday if the weather holds up

The pair have been quite active today, especially in the first feeding session at 11.

I find it quite difficult to get a decent shot. By the time you've noticed they're around and then reacted to it, the little b****rs have got some food and are flying back to the box.
