    Bullfinch

First time I have managed to get a "usable" shot of one of these, I know the background is very messy but he was right in the middle of a tree and surrounded by other trees/bushes.

    Re: Bullfinch

I'm not even looking the background Bill, I'm looking at the bird, and I think its a nice shot.

I think we can get too 'hung-up' on getting a nice clean background with wildlife shots. Wildlife isn't always obliging as to where they sit or perch, just grab the shot, and enjoy the result.

                    Re: Bullfinch

Know from personal experience how tricky these are to photograph. Think you've a good shot and background isn't a problem.
Only slight observation is the image/bird looks a bit orange.

not the best of backgrounds but you have done well with the bird. Although quite common I have only seen a few and most of those were up North on holiday last year
