    Gannets

Visited Bempton Cliffs on Saturday, it was very windy! I used my 70-200f4 IS L lens with a Kenko 1.4 extender, I know it didn't give me the reach I really needed so I've had to crop my images by quite a lot. I know that everyone says that images uploaded direct are soft but I don't have a flicker account but I do have a Photobucket one but I don't seem to be able to upload the url - it keeps saying error file invalid so I'm having to upload direct.
    C & C welcome.

    Sue

    Re: Gannets

Suspect direct upload isn't showing the images to their best.

I tried Photobucket too and had issues. Would be well worth time to set up Flickr account.

    Particularly like last two images.

I agree about the Flickr account, direct uploads won't show your images at their best. This is a good action set, would be even better if they showed as a bit sharper.

        Re: Gannets

We were there both Saturday and yesterday and yes Saturday was so windy it was difficult to hand hold even the 70-200 and converter - in the end I used one of the fence posts as a makeshift monopod

You have done well but as usual a direct upload hasn't done the images any favours - flickr is the way to go

They look like very nice captures, just a shame they have lost a little quality due to direct upload.

                    Re: Gannets

The images do look better on my computer especially with the larger files so I will have a look at creating a flicker account after trying to resolve my issues with photo bucket.
Thank you for the comments which I do fully agree with. I do look at lots of images which are posted & think wow how did they get that.

Stan, I also used some of the fence posts where I could due to the strong wind & at times I could barely hold the camera!

Jock, I really like gannets, the colour & their rather strange blue eyes which are very penetrating really draws you too them.
