    Immature/Juvenile Gannet

    The juvenile or immature gannets look very different to the adults and it can take up to 3 years before they completely lose the dark spots on the wings and head

    This one is probably a first year

                    I have loads of different poses with the adults but was pleased with this as it is a bit different

                            yes they do Paul, although I have never seen / got pictures of any gannets before I am more than pleased with the variety of shots and poses I got especially as many were so close as to only need the 300 f4. Glad I didn't take the 150-600 which would have been overkill and with the strong winds on the first day, I wouldn't have been able to control it anyway
