    American Avocet

Taken in one of the lagoons on Fort Myers Beach, Florida. It was just passing through and stayed for only 3 days so I was lucky to be there at the right time.

    1DX/300mm f2.8 L IS II lens/1.4 III converter.

    Thanks for looking.

Lovely pose Brian - none there during our two weeks

There is more detail available on the back wing if you lift the shadows a touch

                  Re: American Avocet

Thanks guys. I've taken Stan's advice and adjusted the shadows. I don't normally do too much post processing as I prefer to try and get it right in camera. However, in this case I think it's an improvement. Thanks Stan.

Think I preferred the first one, the head looks a bit pale on the second to me.

                          Re: American Avocet

Both are excellent and kind of like the extra detail in the dark areas on the second. So on balance I'd go with that one myself.
