    Great Blue Heron cooling down

    Shot late afternoon at Fort Myers Beach, the heron stood like this for around 10 minutes in the shade of bushes on the far side of a lagoon. Never seen a heron doing this before but it was still very hot, so assume he was trying to cool down

        Lovely detail on the bird. It's not uncommon to see them do this. As you say it was very hot and probably quite humid. It certainly was when I was there.
