had a full hands on training session with my lad this afternoon ,he was teaching me how to use PS6 and nik-efex colour properly ,it also involved some new menu shortcuts and presets being set up .quiet complicated but i now have it up and running nicely .so heres the first one out a stonechat from weds session with steve .more to follow when finished .

Seems very smooth and lacking some detail in the feathers I much prefer to use photoshop for any nature shots, I have the Nik efex set but the colour is more useful for landscapes and the like

looks fine to me on flickr ian ,the nik software seems to work better on the highlights and shadows i.e dynamic range .i would say that around 30% is done in nik the rest in ps6 ,the idea being to extract the best parts of both .i,m still in the learning stage and consequently have toned down the sharpening ,might be to much but more images processed over time will sort that out .
as a aside i wasn't that happy with a lot of weds images just one of them days i suppose ,and i couldn't get as close as normal to the small birds as a couple of arrogant people had blocked the parking space on purpose

Yep there seems to be something going on with posts from Flickr to the forum at the moment ,it's been very noticeable in a few people's posts on Friday ,Flickr is going through a lot of problems at the moment so is it there side or the forum side ?
