Thanks Stan and Jeff. Bah foiled again, Stan. I thought I was into a very "rare" bird in my neck of the woods. Any improvements Jeff is due to my new L lens which enables me to shoot at 672mm at the 300mm end with the convertor. Nothing has changed since I last used the prime 300mm f4L lens,which I sold due to it's weight.

Couple of good shots Nat. Greenfinch numbers have varied a lot over last 50 years or so.

There has been a recent decline in numbers linked to a disease that prevents them from feeding properly (trichomonosis a parasite-induced disease).

In my neck of the woods siskin are now more common than greenfinch.
