    Standing Guard

It was a lovely afternoon and the Wife and I took a 6 mile walk along the D&L Trail which parallels the Delaware River. On our return walk back to the car I spotted this Great Blue Heron standing on a rock near the middle of the Delaware River. Every once in a while he moved his head, other than that, he stood perfectly still.

Good image Tom, you've captured the stillness well. I was a bit thrown by the markings at the top of the wing, but it seems to be a standard feature.
